Meet the Liverpool 2023 Eurovision Artists
Marco Mengoni from Italy 🇮🇹
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is not Marco’s first time at the rodeo; in 2013 the Italian singer finished 7th at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö with his entry L'essenziale, before the song broke into pop charts across Europe.
Marco’s enjoyed great success since then, and at the time of writing he’s released 7 studio albums that between them have gone 69-times platinum. Nice.
Ready to seduce Liverpool with a heartbreaker of a love song, Marco’s Due Vite is the lead single from his upcoming album, which is the third in a trilogy called Materia.
And there’s no rest for Marco, as after the Eurovision Song Contest, he’ll be heading off to perform concerts in Italian stadiums, including a grand finale at the ancient Circus Maximus in Rome.

Hi I'm brand new to bob hund could u please infodump information to me about them bc I'm loving the music but know nothing about them
ohhohoho let's freaking go!
all right, so bob hund was formed in 1991 in stockholm by Thomas Öberg (vocals), Jonas Jonasson (synth) and Mats Hellquist (bass). A bit after that Conny Nimmersjö (guitar) joined the band because he had a rehearsal space (they even made him audition in that rehearsal space). Their other guitarist Johnny Essing joined the band because he owed Mats Hellquist 100 kr (which is like $10). They had a bit of difficulty finding a drummer at first but eventually found a guy named Mats Andersson
Thomas and Jonas went to school toghether in helsingborg before they moved to stockholm
They got the name bob hund from an animated short film called get a job (1985)
Their logo was drawn by Martin Kann, who is also the guy who designs all of their album covers
Blur's guitarist Graham Coxon is (or at least was) a huge fan of bob hund and he did a cover of the song min trampolin
In 2003 they released a self titled album in english under the name bergman rock. That album took several years to make and flopped commercially. In 2005 they released a second album as bergman rock called Bonjour Baberia pt II (both albums are very good i highly recommend them)
In 2009 bob hund gets a new drummer, Christian Gabel, to replace Mats Andersson who is now a passive member of the band
in 2013 they sold their instruments and played shows by borrowing instruments from their fans which somehow resultet in them performing at the malmö opera with the opera orchestra in 2014 (the recording of that performance can be found on their youtube channel under the name 'och bob hund dör i slutet')
in 2021 they did a musical where they are ghosts trying to stop a band called bob katt from breaking up (it's really good but there's unfortunately no recordings of it online) and from late 2022 to about mid 2023 they did some more theater with the show Den overkliga sanningen om bob hund, which is kind of an on stage argument about the band's history (no full recording of this either but there are a few short clips of it on youtube)

Release: January 22, 2013
Lyrics:
The sky is red tonight
We're on the edge tonight
No shooting star to guide us
Eye for an eye, why tear each other apart?
Please tell me why, why do we make it so hard?
Look at us now, we only got ourselves to blame
It's such a shame
How many times can we win and lose?
How many times can we break the rules between us?
Only teardrops
How many times do we have to fight?
How many times till we get it right between us?
Only teardrops
So come and face me now
Here on the stage tonight
Let's leave the past behind us
Eye for an eye, why tear each other apart?
Please tell me why, why do we make it so hard?
Look at us now, we only got ourselves to blame
It's such a shame
Tell me
How many times can we win and lose?
How many times can we break the rules between us?
Only teardrops
How many times do we have to fight?
How many times till we get it right between us?
Only teardrops
What's gone between us has come between us
Only teardrops
(Tell me now) What's gone between us has come between us
How many times can we win and lose?
How many times can we break the rules between us?
Only teardrops
How many times do we have to fight?
How many times till we get it right between us?
Only teardrops, only teardrops
Only teardrops
Only teardrops
How many times can we win and lose?
How many times can we break the rules between us?
Only teardrops
Songwriter:
How many times do we have to fight?

Yay, the host city is here!
I'm always supportive of Eurovision being hosted not only in the capital cities, however Malmö had its 5 minutes in 2013 already so naturally I was rooting for Gothenburg or Örnsköldsvik. Not that I know anything about the arenas and general conditions anyways ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ofc I'm already saving the dates in my calendar. The good news is that I don't think there are any weddings or family celebrations planned, the bad news is it's like 99% sure I'm gonna have the most important finals in my live so far exactly on those dates (and the surrounding weeks). Let's just hope the annual brainrot doesn't compromise my performance 🙃

Device 6
Simogo, 2013
A text-based narrative puzzle game where the player reads through interactive chapters that blend words and visuals in unique ways. The story unfolds like a novel, with the player solving puzzles, but there’s a constant sense of manipulation by the system. The illusion of choice is strong, with seemingly critical decisions subtly guiding the player to predetermined conclusions.

Some fun facts. Angelina's 7th place is the best result of a female singer representing Italy since 2012. She's close friends with Marco Mengoni (who represented Italy last year, where he also showed up with a pride flag). In 2013 he too represented Italy in Malmö and placed 7th, just like Angelina now.
oh wow thats fab
